Foundation 14a: Liberate Talent, Extend Opportunity, and Empower The Community
Foundation 14a is aimed at ‘hard to reach individuals’. We particularly train women, the low skilled, lone parents, ethnic minorities, the disabled, ex-offenders and the economically inactive. In other words, those who need tailored support to enter or re-enter the labour market.
What We Do
We offer a variety of engaging courses in areas such as Beauty Therapy, IT, and Media, embedded with essential skills like literacy, numeracy, and IT. Our programs also cover practical aspects of employment preparation, including CV writing, interview techniques, and job application skills. We tailor our courses to meet the needs of individual groups, organisations, and budgets, ensuring accessibility and relevance.
Our Mission and Goals
At Foundation 14a, we are committed to helping individuals. Our initiatives aim to raise aspirations, enhance social integration, develop skills, and retain talent, contributing to the economic and social regeneration of the communities we serve.
Our Partnerships and Success
We collaborate with various organisations. These include the Department for Work and Pensions, Jobcentre Plus, the Welsh Government’s Big Ideas Wales scheme, WCVA’s Engagement Gateway, and many more. An impressive 66% of our participants move on to employment, self-employment, or further education.
Skills for Growth
Our vocational training packages, particularly in beauty therapies, aim to equip participants with the tools, techniques, and experiences needed to explore the learning and earning potential within the beauty industry. By combining hands-on training with business skills, social media marketing, and self-promotion, we help our learners develop comprehensive employment skills.
Tackling Poverty and Extending Opportunity
Our training programs specifically target the Welsh Government’s Cross-Cutting Themes. For Example, Equal Opportunities & Gender Mainstreaming, Sustainable Development, and Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion. We believe that by promoting accessibility and extending participation to disadvantaged communities, we can tackle poverty at its roots and provide the necessary skills for sustainable employment.
Our Vision for the Future
Foundation 14a aspires to offer structured training and work experiences that lead to sustainable employment across Wales. By doing so, we aim to play a crucial role in the economic and social regeneration of the most deprived communities. Our mission is to liberate talent, extend opportunities, and empower communities, ultimately creating a sustainable future economy.
